The Ancient Doorway of a Dream

In 7th/8th grade I did this silk batik and this painting was modeled off of what i made then. However, i recently was unable to locate my Batik so i went off of memory.
I actually made this for my French class. Weird i know, but we were assigned 1/3 things and i chose painting so i could paint. THen the categories were postimpressionism/fauvism or surrealism...so i chose surrealism.
If you dont know already my fav surrealist is Dali, so of course, i used his idea of the soft clocks..but had them float on water.
That is also a doorway to Egypt..and the funny thing is i just remembered why i drew this in the first place so many years ago. I had gone to bed with the assignment in my mind, and I had a dream of this. The Egyptian Eye of Ra or Horus (depending on which you think it is) as the sun, and the moon setting in its place. Then there were these stones that led to an ancient doorway which opened to wherever you most wanted to go. When i opened it, it took me to Egypt..so ya..there it is..my depiction of a 5-6 year old dream..hahaha
